Using the Internet
The T290 has a browser that makes it possible for you to bring the Internet to your mobile phone.

Before you start
Make sure you have your GPRS or GSM network operator and/or service provider subscription information at hand before you start entering settings. To be able to access the Internet with the T290, you need: · A phone subscription that supports data transmission (for more information please contact your service provider) · A data account, for access to an Internet server · An Internet profile, for Web browsing The Internet settings may already be entered when you buy the phone, or you can enter them manually. The easiest way is to receive the settings from your service provider in a text message, or use the Phone setup for WAP at www.SonyEricsson.com/support. Please note that the Internet settings are different for different service providers.

Internet account and settings
The settings you need may already be entered when you buy the phone, or you can enter them yourself in three different ways: · Automatically by using the Sony Ericsson Phone setup for WAP at www.SonyEricsson.com/support (if supported by your service provider) · Automatically by receiving them from your service provider · Manually by entering the settings in your T290 Please note that the Internet settings are different for different service providers.

Receive settings using the Phone setup for WAP
You will find the Sony Ericsson Phone setup for WAP at www.SonyEricsson.com/support. To be able to receive the correct Internet settings, you need the following information from your service provider: · Country (the country you are in) · Name of service provider · Phone model Follow the instructions on the screen. You will receive the auto configuration in a text message. When you receive the text message, you simply press YES to install your new settings. You are now ready to start using the Internet in your mobile phone.

Receive settings from your service provider
Check your service provider's Web site for information or contact their support desk and ask about automatic remote configuration of Internet. If remote configuration is possible, they will send you the auto configuration in a text message. When you receive the text message, you simply press YES to install your new settings.

Enter settings manually
To be able to enter these settings, you must have the following information which you get from your service provider:

Using GPRS Data
· A subscription that supports GPRS (GPRS = General Packet Radio Services) · APN (APN = Access point name address) · User name · Password

Using GSM Data
· A subscription that supports GSM Data (CSD = Circuit Switched Data or HSCSD = High Speed Circuit Switched Data) · Phone number · User name · Password
