Feature enhancements
· Version 2.3 of the DST 2007 patch manager contains an enhancement designed to force the restart of a BlackBerry® device after a patch is applied. Version 2.3 also improves the performance of the DST 2007 patch manager with the BlackBerry Internet Service Browser. Version 2.2 of the DST 2007 patch manager contains extra logging and debugging information.

·

Fixed issues
Issue Description Fixed issues in DST patch manager version 2.5 SDR 148614 In earlier versions of the DST 2007 patch manager, if the BlackBerry® MDS Services returned an HTTP "400" (Bad Request) error, the patch manager did not try another transport and might have failed to retrieve a patch. To resolve this issue, HTTP "400" errors now trigger the DST 2007 patch manager to try the next available transport, for example, BlackBerry® Internet Service, WAP or TCP.

Fixed issues in DST patch manager version 2.3 SDR 122016 In earlier versions of the DST 2007 patch manager, the user was prompted twice to restart the BlackBerry® device but was not forced to restart it. In DST 2007 patch manager version 2.3, the user is prompted up to four times, once per hour. The DST 2007 patch manager forces a restart after the fourth prompt. In earlier versions of the DST 2007 patch manager, if the BlackBerry Enterprise Server Mobile Data Service transport was not available, the DST 2007 patch manager did not work correctly with the BlackBerry Internet Service Browser. This issue has been resolved.

Fixed issues in DST patch manager version 2.2 SDR 121376 For BlackBerry® Device Software versions earlier than 4.1.0.344, including 4.1.0.347, the DST Query tool might have listed a BlackBerry device in the "Awaiting Patch" state even though the patch could not be applied to the BlackBerry device. DST 2007 patch manager version 1.5 downloaded the DST 2007 patch and attempted to install it. The installation failed because the specified application control policy did not permit the DST 2007 patch to be installed on the BlackBerry device. The event logs for the BlackBerry device incorrectly reported "EVENT_PATCH_INSTALLED_NO_RESET_REQUIRED (0x15)". In the DST Query tool, the BlackBerry device was listed in the "Awaiting Patch" state. When used with DST 2007 patch manager version 2.2 and later, the DST Query tool sends the "EVENT_ERROR_INSTALLING_PATCH_TX_ERROR (0x8D)" error message to the BlackBerry Enterprise Server if this error occurs. On the BlackBerry device, the "Error installing 2007 DST patch" message appears. Workaround: For BlackBerry Device Software versions earlier than 4.1.0.344, including 4.1.0.347, administrators must use a BlackBerry Enterprise Server software configuration to set the default application control policy to "optional." After an administrator sets the default application control policy to optional, users can attempt to download the DST 2007 patch again.
